Stencil Marking | 4 May, 2000

We are going to have 29x29 tubular frame stencils. We are going to use a stencil washer machine. We are going to have a Metro Stencil rack to hold the stencils. How can I mark the outside of the stencils so I can see what job it is for and so that it won't wash off in the Smartsonic. Thanks

Is there a cheap process for filling that with a contrasting colored material? We just use "permanent" markers, which last quite a while. I'm not sure engraving marking would show up very well. Maybe a dedicated location on the shelf with a tag on the slot is the way to go?

If I could get the epoxy to last as long as the markings, I'd be thrilled.

We engrave a kind of 'dog tag' which we attach on to the frame.It's fairly visible. You need to put it on somewhere that doesn't get in the way - depends on your equipment. You can also use it to give the operators an orientation for loading the stencils into the printer.

I use a label printer. You can get different colors to denote top and bottomside or expoxy if you screen it. Will not wash off in cleaner and last virtually forever.. Will peal off if needed..
