I don't think so *g* talked to a mydata distributor and even they said this machine won't make sense in any way. Price shall be several 100K USD. Much slower than a normal printer. And the printhead needs to be replaced very often and costs 2K. For this money you get a high end screenprinter and a stencil laser *ggg*

Best Regards

Erik

Hi,

For that money I wonder if you can get a high end stencil printer, and a machine to make stencils.

Grant

I have a couple of customers I showed this to and they were impressed with the capability but didn't know the price yet. Reason being was the control of the amount of paste applied to the pads could be adjusted. They both said they had problems with joint failures traced back to insufficient solder. So if your dealing with low volume high quality it might be an option but the price isn't very cost effective.

How can anyone say that it isn't cost effective when there is no price set? (at least none that i've seen). And to Erik, not to be rude, but I can't imagine any employee or distributor of MYDATA talking bad about a product that they will sell and or service. Just doesn't make any sense.

I have heard many reps tell the truth about a product they are representing. Just because they sell it.......a good rep....will...in most cases... give you an 'honest' opinion.

I was a little amazed 2. But it was definetly what he said. And I thing to show his honest opinion gives him a very good reputation.

I can see this being useful to a company that needs the ability to do one-day turns on prototypes. The type of situation where your customer shows up at your door with two bags, one is a bag of parts and the other is a bag of cash and they say they need their boards by tomorrow morning. That may not sound realistic to a lot of people, but at my former employer they had a huge initiative to be able to offer that kind of service to their customers. It sure isn't realistic where I now work.
