About the position
The Product Manager will be responsible for several lines of die bonder and epoxy dispenser products. The successful candidate will work with customers as well as internal departments, including Sales, R&D, Engineering, Applications, Operations and Finance. The Project Manager reports to the Director of Product Management, MRSI.

Key Responsibilities
• Develops and maintains market understanding of end user applications and customer requirements. Owns Voice-of Customer (VOC) process. Works with customers and MRSI’s sales and field applications teams for customer interface projects
• Provides inputs to product roadmap development. Develops product definitions to meet customer requirements. Drives value proposition development to help direct strengthening and growing MRSI’s core competencies
• Manages full product life cycle of product lines through stage-gate process management
• Collaborates, as a product champion, with functional managers to ensure business priorities and objectives are achieved to align with expectations for timing and trajectory of revenue development
• Provides inputs to product pricing and profit margin strategies. Works with Sales to ensure that customer application requirements are well understood, our product configurations are bid and quotes reflect best business judgment to maximize gross margins, gain share and meet the competitive environment
• Work with Engineering and Application Engineering to match quoted machine configuration to customer application requirements
• Provides overall product direction and training for customer service and support activities
• Develops product collaterals, including brochures, datasheets, price lists, feature descriptions, buying guides, customer presentation materials, and other materials needed to market the products
• Works with Marketing Communications (MARCOM) to develop and execute appropriate MARCOM strategies and plans to promote the overall product capability and brand suite

Experience and Qualifications
• Must have proven experience in product management, including project and program management.
• Should have worked in industry for 5+ years, with 3+ years in a marketing, program management, or business development role in a quality-driven global organization, and 5+ years of direct experience working in one or more of the following areas: optical communications, advanced photonics (LiDAR, sensors, imaging), industrial lasers, power amplifiers, RF electronics and medical devices
• Experience managing capital equipment or other system level product is desirable
• Must have demonstrated solid abilities in all facets of product life cycle management, including Voice of Customer (VOC) and stage gate-based process implementation
• Should have solid understanding of basic financial concepts and their implications for product/business strategy
• Should have strong ability to analyze complex situations and reach conclusions through logical process of elimination and reasoned fact based decision making
• Should be comfortable in making decisions based on incomplete information
• Possess strong presentation skills to engage the attention of both customers and colleagues
• Must have cross-functional team management experience
• Should possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills through managing by influence
• Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing; exhibit strong listening and feedback skills; and have the ability to provide clear direction
• Positive attitude, driven to win, desire to work with customers
• Sense of urgency with personal commitment to the products’ market success
• Team player that is respectful of customers, peers, subordinates and supervisors
• Bachelor or higher degree in engineering or a science discipline, preferably with relevance to areas such as lasers/LEDs, photonics, fiber optics, imaging and sensors, RF devices
• MBA is a plus
• Working knowledge and use of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and MS Project
