Job Description:

Perform specialized and diversified procurement functions required to supply material in accordance with Corporate Policies and Procedures; using the lowest reasonable price, ensuring the maximum quality goods delivered on-time to support manufacturing. Make decision that drive positive customer experience and support Spartronics financial metrics/goals.


Primary or Major Responsibilities:

Analyze customer(s) materials requirements which satisfy the requirements of the requesting program or department and are in the best interest of the company and customer.
Place PO’s per system MRP requirements and maintain all PO changes- in accordance with Spartronics policy procedures.
Ensure customer flow-down requirements and required documentation is provided with PO.
May assist other team members in expediting delinquent shipments and resolving other associated problems.
May provide work direction and/or assist in training other employees in the department.
Support resolution of supplier quality issues, purchase order accounting issues, and interact with our receiving team.
Travel, as required, to meet with Suppliers and other appropriate representatives to discuss and satisfy matters that cannot be taken care of in the plant. (less than 10% annual)
Responsible for interfacing with engineering and production to ensure best “fit” for materials availability – cost, delivery, etc…
Astute management inventory levels; intelligence in supporting financial metrics
Work independently and arrive at decisions in line with company policies of good, ethical purchasing practices.
May negotiate short and long term contracts, agreements and blanket purchase orders.
May make presentations to customers (internal/external) and to management on the status of commodities and projects.
Expected to engage suppliers in meaningful & professional manner; you are the voice of Spartronics to our partner base.
Analyze and speak to market trends for assigned customers and materials.
Work independently and/or with others to implement tactical plans, schedule and prepare management and analysis reports on a regular basis.
Depending on experience, may assist in the direction of the procurement activity of the department and training of developing supply chain professionals.
Perform other related duties assigned by management to support profitable growth.
Ensure the safety & wellbeing of all employees and visitors to the facility. Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental & regulations, operating & work instructions, policies and rules in place. Report any possible violations to Management immediately.
Safety:

Ensure that all assignments are performed in compliance with all applicable Federal, State, and Company safety and health regulations, and where applicable, proper personal protective equipment is utilized.

Requirements
BA/BS in related field preferred- or equivalent work experience
5 years’ experience in related discipline.
Knowledge of supply sources and marketing conditions in various commodities.
Understanding of operations principles (JIT, MRP, TQC, Lean, Six Sigma) required.
Demonstrated experience and successful results in negotiation skills and strategies.
Ability to work with little or no supervision.
Must possess a thorough technical understanding of the various commodities assigned.
