The Quality Inspector performs routine and/or repetitive operations in a flexible manufacturing environment in accordance with standardized processes, procedures, or methods. This position may require frequent movement throughout the manufacturing operation.
Primary or Major Responsibilities:
Solid understanding of Quality/ Incoming inspection and will be responsible for the tasks associated with this role.
Creates/Prepares/Performs First Article inspections on applicable assemblies and projects IAW AS9102 (AS9100). Will require frequent interactions with customer Supplier Quality Managers (SQM).
Ability to read and understand schematics, wire diagrams, and mechanical drawings.
Proficient in the use of measuring equipment. gauges (fixed, micrometers, calipers, rules).
Will need to be computer literate and has a great working knowledge of MS office programs and online portals as applicable.
Must understand and comply with ESD and FOD/FOE requirements for the Mil/Aero group.
Initiate and maintain accurate paperwork and records as required by job.
Needs a solid understanding and ability to perform continuity and power testing for the tasks associated with this role.
Ability to inspect soldered materials or components in accordance with J-STD-001 and IPC-620 or ability to be trained.
Responsible for daily clean-up of all assigned work areas and to practice Good Housekeeping skills.
Ability to deploy sound inventory control methods and procedures. This will include being able to allocate materials to work orders, incoming inspection assistance, and ability to issue inventory in MRP, if applicable.
May be required to handle, mix and test hazardous chemicals.
Basic duties as required to meet production needs. Must also be flexible to OT or a flex schedule.
Willing to work in a team environment.
Ensure that all assignments are performed in compliance with all applicable Federal, State, Provincial and Company safety and health regulations, and where applicable, proper personal protective equipment is utilized.
High school graduate or equivalent.
Must have reliable transportation and be available to work with short notice.
Ability to read and comprehend written work instructions.
Ability to add and subtract whole numbers, fractions and decimals using direct reading, gauges, rulers and scales.
Must be quality conscious and have a good work ethic.
Must maintain ESD Precautions Standards certification in areas/facilities where required (training provided by employer)
May be required to lift up to 55 lbs as required by the job task.
Certifications- ASQ CST or ASQ CQI
Experience with ISO 9001:2008 or AS9100
Electronics Manufacturing experience
