HITACHI Introduces Stack Stick Feeder for Sigma Mounter; Odd Form Components
May 15, 2014 | Hitachi High‐Tech Instruments announces the availability of their new Stack Stick Feeder for the Sigma Series modular mounters. The Stack Stick Feeder is especially well-suited for feeding odd-form components to the mounter. The feeder can accommodate up to 6 sticks at a time, with maximum length of each stick 600mm (23.6”) and an auto change feature replaces empty sticks with full ones automatically. There is no need to stop production, since 6 sticks can be stocked at a time in the stock area. Changeover time is only 2 seconds.

Its lead clinching capability uses side-mounted lighting and machine vision to identify and precisely locate through-hole component leads. During placement/insertion, clinching simultaneously takes place to prevent the inserted component from falling out or becoming dislodged prior to soldering.

(HTA) announces the introduction of the first true innovation in the SMT component placement market in years with the industry's first automatic self-loading feeder, the SL. The 8mm SL Feeder provides splice-free continuous operation and resolves issues that have plagued electronics assembly customers for years caused by component reel splicing, including improperly spliced tape that interrupts production, and higher material and labor costs.
