LCR-Reader-MPA Description:

LCR-Reader-MPA is an updated model in the LCR-Reader-MP series; it has nearly the same record high basic accuracy of 0.1% and a wide range of features such as oscilloscope mode, Diode/LED tests, frequency meter, signal generator, super large capacitance testing, AC/DC voltage/current measurement, 100 kHz test frequency, continuity/open testing, and more.

The design of MPA was changed to be smaller and almost 1.5 times lighter than the previous version. The display is slightly smaller but provides better readability with larger characters. The tweezer 'arms' were redesigned to better align and provide contact with components. Instead of the jog-wheel, the MPA uses a 4-way joystick-like navigational button; this allows users to easily change basic test functions from the default screen. 

MPA has three test signa levels, 0.1, 0.5 and 1 Vrms; the ability to test with 1 Vrms is very important for accurate measurements of ceramic capacitors. The ability to test LEDs with 3.2 Volts was also added. The device does not use a slide switch for voltage measurements anymore, but instead was replaced with an automatic relay switch. The Signal source resistance was reduced to 100 Ohms which is better for testing smaller inductances and resistances and larger capacitances.

The LCR-Reader-MPA uses the same time-saving design as LCR-Reader and Smart Tweezers devices. The combined LCR-meter with sharp, gold-plated tweezers can automatically determine the type of component and best test parameters to use before measuring with high accuracy. All measurement values, including main and secondary impedance value, test mode, component type and test signal level are all instantly shown on the built-in backlit LCD display. 

The MPA offers a wide range of features for any task at hand, one of the main features available is the ability to test using a 100 kHz test frequency. This allows for a 0.001 pF resolution for capacitance and 0.1 nH for inductance measurements. 

The ability to test large and super large capacitances is a major feature on the device. This is due to the wide range of test signal frequencies (100, 120 Hz, 1,10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 75 and 100 kHz). Electrolytic capacitors are measured at 120 Hertz while ESR at 100 kHz according to regular electrolytic capacitor test conditions.

Each device has a set of gold-plated straight probes, Offset Calibration Board and hard-shelled carrying case and comes with an NIST traceable calibration certificate (available soon). Bent tweezer probes and LCR-Reader Kelvin Probe Connector are also available; the Kelvin Probe Connector is exceptionally useful when using the oscilloscope test mode.
