LCR-Reader-MP is a multipurpose device for testing SMT and debugging PCBs. This model offers the highest basic accuracy of 0.1% and the most features of all Smart Tweezers and LCR-Reader devices, including test modes such as diode/LED testing, frequency measurements, signal generation, AC/DC voltage testing, an oscilloscope mode and more. One of the most regarded features is the ability to test at 100 kHz frequency which allows for a 1nH resolution for inductance measurements and 0.01 pF for capacitance.

The oscilloscope mode is able to measure various waveforms with frequencies up to 100 kHz on active circuit boards. This mode is best suited for use with the LCR-Reader Kelvin Probe Connector.

Another main feature of the device is the 'Large Capacitance' measurement mode that is capable of measuring large capacitances up to 680 mF. Large Cap mode will also automatically reduce the test frequency to 25 Hertz for better accuracy while testing. The MP device also automatically tests electrolytic capacitors at 120 Hertz with the ESR values measured at 100 kHz according to regular electrolytic capacitor test conditions.

Depending on the task, the test frequency must be set. The MP device offers a wide range of frequencies: 25, 100, 120 Hz, 1, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 75, and 100 kHz.

 Like Smart Tweezers and LCR-Reader, the device combines a set of sharp tweezers and a lightweight LCR- and ESR-meter in a portable device. The MP device is larger and twice as heavy as previous models, the 2-oz. device is still ultimately portable and easy to use. The back-lit LCD display is large enough to show all important measurement information including the component type, test mode, secondary values, etc. To control the device simply turn the jog-wheel and press to select. The MP is powered by a Li-Po battery and is charged via micro-USB.

Siborg has had the MP device tested by Navair Technologies in Toronto, Ontario. After receiving the results, Siborg is able to supply NIST Traceable Calibration Certificates for the device. The MP has also been granted FCC Certification by MPB Technologies in Alberta, Canada.

Some downsides to the LCR-Reader-MP include a high-test signal source resistance of 1 kOhm and a test signal level of 0.65 Vrms that is higher than original LCR-Readers, but still lower than Smart Tweezers' 1 Vrms. The test signal level may read lower than actual capacitance values and may not be reliable enough while testing some capacitors, specifically ceramic capacitors.
