SolTec Labs, a division of SolTec Electronics, offers in-house IC decapsulation, die verification, and electrical analysis services to help military, aerospace, & electronic manufacturing clients combat counterfeits in the marketplace.

Decapsulation

Decaped ICOpening of an IC package to expose the die, which is then observed with a metallurgical microscope. Our experienced technician is looking to validate the manufacturer logo & part number, when possible, & also looks for inconsistencies or signs of stress with the bond wires and pads to determine if the product could be sub-standard or counterfeit.

Pin-print Analysis

We perform basic pin correlation testing to confirm that random or full sampling of parts in a lot are functioning with the same electrical tolerances. Combined with decapsulation, this is a highly effective method of detecting sub-par components. View our SAMPLE REPORT to see the scope of this work.

Functional Testing

We can perform full functional testing on a limited selection of Digital and Analog IC's (Series 54/74 TTLs, CMOS, Memory, Microprocessors, OpAmps, Switches, Regulators and Optocouplers). Visual Inspection

We use stereoscopic imaging to make sure that no flaw goes undetected. This combined with chemical permanency surface testing helps detect non-conformances with the part. If anything suspicious is observed, they then undergo more advanced testing including decap & curve trace.
