OSU School of Mechanical, Industrial, and Manufacturing Engineering (MIME)

Providing an education that prepares our students as entrepreneurial, team-oriented, and work-ready graduates in mechanical, industrial, and manufacturing engineering and energy engineering management

Research Institute / Laboratory / School

The OSU School of Mechanical, Industrial, and Manufacturing Engineering (MIME) comprises about 40 full-time faculty members and instructors, about 20 staff members and research associates, around 120 graduate students, and 900+ undergraduates.

We offer undergraduate and graduate programs in both mechanical and industrial engineering; undergraduate programs in manufacturing engineering and energy engineering management; and an interdisciplinary graduate program in materials science.

Fields of specialization in mechanical engineering include design/mechanics, dynamics and control, materials, and thermal–fluid sciences.

Within the industrial and manufacturing engineering programs, fields of specialization include manufacturing systems, information systems, human systems engineering, and nano/micromanufacturing.
