Component Testing & Verification Description:

Vigilant provides an array of component testing and verification services. Not only do we test and verify all electronic components we source, but we can also provide a full component test and  verification service for components our customers have purchased.

There is no substitute for well trained, 'vigilant' inspectors. All our inspectors are trained to IPC610 and operate in accordance with the requirements of the IDEA-STD-1010-B standard (for the acceptability of electronic components distributed in the open market).

In addition Vigilant has an extensive, dedicated in-house electronic component test laboratory where components are inspected, tested and verified using high resolution microscopes, marking permanency tests, electrical testing, and solderability tests, together with the latest specialist X-ray equipment.
 

When it comes to guarding against counterfeit components, it's important to remember that component counterfeiters are continually evolving. Accordingly we are continually investing in our people, systems and equipment to ensure we are ahead of the game. How we check the quality and authenticity of components:

Our component inspection processes have been developed in accordance with the requirements of the IDEA-STD-1010-B. (standard for the acceptability of electronic components distributed in the open market).

As soon as we receive components, the Vigilant goods-in inspection team will carry out an initial thorough inspection of all packaging material and cross reference all electronic components with documented specifications. At this stage all electronic components are scrutinised for evidence of inadequate storage or misuse and a number of other aspects can be checked including symbolisation, bar code label readings and physical measurements etc. Of course, we're always checking for signs of counterfeiting; our years of industry experience are clearly a major asset for us. Any components failing the initial inspection stage, or previously 'flagged' for additional checks, are passed through to our dedicated in-house electronic component test laboratory where components are inspected, tested and verified using a combination of high resolution microscopes, marking permanency tests, electrical testing, X-ray and solderability tests.

Our customers can see the results of this work extremely quickly and are presented with our findings in the comprehensive Inspection Reports we produce.
