IPC J-STD-001 Certification is a 5-day program for experienced soldering technicians looking for acquaintance of the IPC J-STD-001 Document and process controls and recommendations surrounding “best practices” in this document. The course reviews this document and assists students learn how to navigate the criteria. Both closed and open book tests are necessary after each module. Hand Soldering skills need to be demonstrated and competency shown to the instructor. Students must pass both the hand soldering as well as the specification Q/A in order to successfully complete this program. The IPC JSTD Certification program consists of both hands soldering as well as learning the material in the J-STD-001 specification related to various assembly methods.

This class is not designed as a starting “how to” soldering class. It is taught at the 5th-grade reading and writing level in the English language. Foreign language instruction is available in several of the most common languages.

IPC J-STD-001 Certification program is isolated into 5 one-day modules, each covering a different area of soldered electronics assemblies.
