SMTA International Keynote Speaker Announced Jeff Gallinat, Senior Vice President of Cisco Supply Chain Operations, to Discuss Internet of Everything

Jul 03, 2014

The Opening Keynote Session and Annual Meeting at SMTA International, September 30, 2014, will feature Jeff Gallinat, Senior Vice President of Cisco Supply Chain Operations, as the keynote speaker.  He will present "The Internet of Everything and the Cisco Connected Supply Chain."  This is a free event at SMTA International and includes breakfast treats and coffee for all attendees.

Jeff will share the importance of an Internet of Everything approach that delivers more value to companies than just the Internet of Things. The number of connected devices, sensors, objects and other "things" are expected to grow to over 50 billion by the year 2020. The Internet of Everything, which includes People, Process, Data and Things, brings new opportunities and value in the manufacturing industry through automation, sensors, and data, to name a few. As the executive sponsor of Cisco Supply Chain Innovation, he will also share the current approach for Cisco's Connected Supply Chain and the value to Cisco's customers and shareholders.

Mr. Gallinat is responsible for the management and execution of all Cisco's manufacturing operations globally, including assembly, material planning, logistics, supply base, contract manufacturing management, and factory quality. Prior to joining Cisco in 2008, Jeff was Vice President of Global Manufacturing at Lenovo Group. He was a leading operational executive in the initial business integration, and led the design and re-engineering of Lenovo's global operational footprint in China, India, Brazil, US, Mexico, and Central Europe. Jeff joined Lenovo after a 23-year career with IBM. He spent six years as IBM's General Manager of International Information Products Co (IIPC) in Shenzhen, China, a joint venture between IBM and Great Wall Computer. During this time, IIPC grew into one of China's largest and leading foreign enterprises, achieved a growth rate of over 3,000% and became one of the top five exporters in China, with shipments to over 120 companies. Prior to that, Jeff worked for IBM for 17 years in the United States, where he held several leadership assignments in supply chain, engineering, procurement, and planning. Jeff holds a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering (Summa Cum Laude) from the Georgia Institute of Technology and attended the Harvard Business School's Program for Management Development.
