This new system unifies the advantages of optical testing and X-ray inspection optimally and is distinguished by series of new features. Integration of the Viscom 4M camera technology has significantly increased the throughput rate for this model while simultaneously maintaining or even improving the high inspection depth typical for Viscom.
The X7055 inspection system is a consistent advancement of the extremely successful X7054 inspection system. It presents the combination of AOI and AXI in one system now also in current, modern Viscom design. The use of flexible 4M technology, already in use in the S6055 AOI system, has made it possible to also significantly reduce the cycle time here without decreasing the high inspection depth typical for Viscom. Moreover, the asymmetric arrangement of the sensors the line length to the minimum possible.
The system can be equipped with up to 2 orthogonal megapixel modules each with 4 megapixel cameras and, in addition, with up to a max. of 2 AV modules (with max. 8 megapixel cameras each) for angular views. The X-ray module is available as 120 or 160 kV version depending on the application.
In the single-track mode it is even possible to test large circuits boards with dimensions of up to 19.7" x 24" (500 x 610 mm). Double-track operation with a maximum board size of up to 200 x 280 mm is also possible for further reduction of the cycle time.
The new sensor modules also contribute to satisfying current requirements for greater component height. The new camera technology allows an upper passage height of 35 mm and lower passage height of 50 mm. A driven circuit board support makes it possible to easily transport circuit boards with thicknesses of 0.5 - 5 mm.
The X-ray exposure of the components is reduced considerably with the aid of a shutter target developed within our own company and the standard collimator. Moreover, the exposure per component and per passage is automatically recorded and is available for documentation purposes. The Viscom X-ray source guarantees variation-free, highly constant X-ray intensity - making it possible to reduce pseudo-errors to a minimum. A further characteristic of this company development, in addition to TAF (TrueAutoFocus) is the dynamic service life determination of the cathode unit with a display for the remaining service life.
The revised and improved XY unit is based on a shock absorber table and is equipped with maintenance-free high-speed drives.
A further feature is the possibility of outside machine maintenance (OMM), allowing the X-ray components to be moved out of the machine for maintenance purposes. Digital image units for optimum contrast are available as an option. Naturally the inspection system fulfills all requirements for full protection according to the new X-ray codes effective as of June 18 2002.
The new X7055 system will be presented to the public for the first time at the SMT 2003. Convince yourself, visit us in hall 3, stand 220.
