GraphiCode Introduces GC-PowerPlace Software. The Product is an Upgrade to the Previously Named GC-Place

Apr 10, 2002

GraphiCode, a provider of software innovations for electronics manufacturing, today announces the release of GC-PowerPlace v.2.1.2. The product is an upgrade to the previously named GC-Place. The new software provides customer driven enhancements and new features to streamline the process of Gerber data translation.

The company is building on the success of the software tool GC-Place, which translates Gerber data into intelligent CAD data. GC-PowerPlace delivers integrated features, such as the ability to automatically find the centroids of parts including ball grid arrays (BGAs) and off-angle components. In addition, the new software gives users the ability to create template apertures based on a part's extents. The 2.1.2. release also offers improved user interface, which includes customizable toolbars.

"GraphiCode has always been committed to customer driven solutions, but never before has this been more evident than now with the GC-PowerPlace release," said Adam Brockman, sales and marketing manager. "Building on the needs of customers and the technology of GC-Place, GC-PowerPlace has emerged as a powerful, robust manufacturing tool that dramatically enhances customer productivity."

The software runs on the industry-standard Windows platform eliminating the need to run workstations. Flexible input and powerful outputs, combined with enhanced CAM functionality, result in higher throughput and lower costs. The software offers additional scripting capabilities to streamline workflow and enhance productivity bringing new efficiencies to the process.

GraphiCode, Inc., Mountlake Terrace, WA, has a long-standing reputation for developing innovative, PC-based, software solutions designed specifically for the manufacturing and testing of bare and assembled printed circuit boards (PCBs). Virtually every major contract electronics manufacturer in the world uses at least one GraphiCode product as part of its manufacturing process. The company'' software products are sold to OEMs, integrators, distributors and end-user customers who use the software to view, verify and edit original CAD design data (in Gerber format) prior to PCB assembly and fabrication. GraphiCode strives to provide top quality service and products into the next millennium.
