Before relocating to Belgium to manage the European operations, Thomson was Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Valors North American business, based in California. With an excellent track record he built a successful sales team and grew US revenues by over 40% from 1999 to date. Prior to joining Valor, Thomson held the position of Western Regional Sales and Support Director at UniCAM, preceded by various senior management, sales and mechanical CAE/CAD/CAM functions spanning 20 years experience in the automotive, aerospace and electronics industries.
Reporting to Schmil Dolberg, CEO at Valor, Thomson commented on his appointment, Heading up the established and still growing European sales and support team, our key focus is on selling software productivity solutions to improve DFM and NPI processes for electronics design and manufacturing services companies. We continue to accelerate the penetration of Valors Trilogy 5000 CAM solution into the assembly market - based on new developments in machine optimization, product grouping and manufacturing documentation - as well as maintaining our leadership position in the DFM sector with Enterprise 3000 for PCB verification and virtual prototyping. The VPL online library, providing accurate physical models of components, is also supporting this thrust with over 20 million parts and growing.
Fueling our growing customer base (75 sites across Europe), we are moving to increase business in new geographic territories, including the Baltic States, Poland, Turkey, Greece and other southern European countries, in response to contract manufacturers (CEMs) moving key manufacturing hubs to lower costs areas, Thomson added.
Great interest and customer acceptances from global electronics companies for Valors new eCollaboration technology, developed by subsidiary company, e4eNet, also represents a significant part of the companys future growth in Europe.
