e4eNet Secures Contracts Worth $1.2 Million

Mar 05, 2002

DATE 2002, Paris 5 March 2002 Valor Computerized Systems (Neuer Markt: VCR) a global leader in providing productivity software solutions, announced that e4eNet, a wholly owned subsidiary of Valor, during the last 6 months has secured major initial contracts worth over $1.2 million with leading blue chip electronics companies. e4eNets customer portfolio now incorporates world-class electronic design companies, OEMs and manufacturers, such as Alcatel, Celestica, EMC2, Lucent Technologies, Sanmina-SCI and Teradyne.

Based on Valors own extensive customer research, Valor established e4eNet in order to satisfy the need within the global electronics market for a solution to provide secure on-line product development technology to enable disparate customers, partners and suppliers to collaborate through the web, in real-time. Through its innovative business-process optimization systems, e4eNet has become the leader in engineering collaboration technology.

Current trends in new product introduction (NPI) ensure that global engineering collaboration remains a high-profile challenge. As product life-cycles continue to shrink, and design complexity continues to increase, the creation and management of engineering changes becomes more complicated. Coupled with the outsourcing revolution we see today, the need for an NPI-focused engineering collaboration solution has never been more critical.

Schmil Dolberg, president and CEO of Valor Computerized Systems Ltd. said, Demand for secure but flexible engineering collaboration within predominantly outsourced electronics supply chains is ramping up. Initial subscriptions to the e4eNet service are accelerating, fully vindicating our original strategy to concentrate on collaboration tools which focus specifically on the electronics design and manufacturing market. We especially value all the input we have received from launch-customers, and look forward to further compounding the value of the e4eNet solution, through on-going co-operation with leading electronics design and manufacturing partners.

Leigh Eichel, president of e4eNet said, It has been an exciting year for us. Working closely with our development beta partners, such as EMC2 and Celestica, has enabled us to quickly mature our product technology into a stable, world beating engineering collaboration solution. In 2001 we successfully delivered our first commercial product release to the mass market, and since then have stuck to our product roadmap, delivering all product releases on time. But most importantly we have achieved formal customer acceptance of the e4eNet solution.

Sanmina-SCI selected e4eNet for both internal engineering collaboration and secure collaboration with their third-party partners. PC Wong, Engineering Manager of Sanmina-SCI said, The biggest bottleneck in our process is synchronizing last minute design issues just before prototype. The e4eNet solution allows us to collaborate over the web to quickly resolve any issues that arise, and we can do it securely across company firewalls. This saves us valuable time, making it possible for us to complete each project more quickly.

According to Eichel, Our customers typically measure return-on-investment based on time-to-market gains. By implementing the e4eNet solution we can help them improve process efficiencies and productivity, speed communications enterprise-wide, and ensure better control and management of data. Our research shows that companies using the e4eNet solution are regularly seeing direct cost savings which more than covers the cost of the e4eNet service; conservative estimates of payback indicate a return on investment of less than 6 months. This is particularly valuable in NPI, where up to 80% of the cost of a new product is in its design.

To support the growing number of customers worldwide, a key objective for e4eNet this year is to expand its sales organization across North America, and into Europe and Asia. With the recent appointment of Valors sales and support subsidiaries as distributors, to cover all major global markets including the Pacific Rim, e4eNet extends its implementation capabilities worldwide.
