NEW DEK technologies honoured at the Global Technology Awards

DEK is celebrating a double win at the recent Global Technology Awards, held on November 13th at the Productronica exhibition in Munich. Handed to its recently introduced Cyclone and Reel-to-Reel solutions, the awards saw DEK technologies prevail in the hotly contested cleaning equipment and screen printing equipment categories.

Sponsored by Global SMT & Packaging magazine, the prestigious awards recognise innovation in the electronics industry over the past year. Both Cyclone and Reel-to-Reel topped their respective categories after an independent panel of international experts judged them favourably in relation to criteria including innovation, speed/throughput improvements, quality contribution, cost-benefit and ease-of-use.

Officially launched at Productronica, DEK�s new Reel-to-Reel machine won the category of best screen printing equipment after judges recognised its ability to deliver precision printing for continuous substrates such as flexible printed circuits and advanced synthetic materials. Combining DEK�s proven expertise in precision alignment and versatile clamping with breakthrough tooling solutions, Reel-to-Reel is an innovative solution for the specific demands of large, flexible substrates.

DEK�s other award winner was its ultra high-speed Cyclone understencil cleaning technology, equipped to slash conventional cleaning times by half. Combining a bi-directional active cleaning mechanism with a unique five-stage cleaning head to extend the active surface cleaning area on each stroke, Cyclone deploys an increased traverse velocity to deliver its high speed stencil cleaning performance. With shorter cleaning cycles, longer intervals between paper roll changeover and reduced changeover times, Cyclone represents a substantial productivity advantage � a fact not lost on the awards judging panel.
