Constant R&D and ongoing product development will be evident in the advanced technologies and functionalities showcased by Hitachi High Technologies America at IPC/APEX 2014, according to Tom Simpson, General Manager of the U.S. operation. "Our new Sigma G5S is faster, more capable and offers double the accuracy of our flagship G5 modular mounter."
"Equipped with our new SL, or self-loading feeders, which will also be on display, the new G5S presents an unbeatable combination of speed, flexibility, and capacity to meet the growing challenges of today’s SMT assembly," he stated.
The G5S’ two-head placement system, plus Hitachi’s unique Overdrive Control System, enables unparalleled flexibility and configurability in addition to high speed. The G5S also offers Hitachi’s incredible new LED placement via die recognition technology for optimum lighting performance from every LED assembly. Its Multi-function head boasts an array of features, including new Lead-clinching functionality and Tamping; it can also utilize an array of mechanical grip nozzles to automate manual tasks.
HTA’s new self-loading SL-Feeders are ‘splice-less’; they eliminate production interruptions once required for reel splicing. These innovative reel & strip tape 8mm feeders make the production flow continuous, efficient, and automated; there’s no longer a need for operator intervention. "At Hitachi, we’re constantly innovating and improving modular placement technology. That’s why the Hitachi system you bought yesterday will be performance-competitive tomorrow," Simpson adds.
Hitachi will also be exhibiting its NT-100 programming module, the EG-200 automated off-line library creation system, CPK testing unit, and single tray feeder option.
