China has replaced America as the world’s largest automobile market. Data shows that the country’s automotive electronics market topped RMB 300 billion (USD 47 billion) in 2011. Additionally, a report from iSuppli estimates that the sales of China’s automotive electronics will reach USD 29.9 billion in 2015.

The 12th Five-Year Economic Development Plan (2011-2015) explicitly pledges more investment in new technology for automotive electronics. Estimates show that in the next five years, the cost of automotive electronics in China’s traditional auto market will grow from 18.6% to 32%. In the new energy auto field, costs are expected to top 45%, which will bring huge opportunities and challenges to automotive electronics manufacturers.
