Carlsbad, CA – February 23, 2012: Machine Vision Products (MVP), a leader in Automated Optical Inspection will be demonstrating a new range of AOI systems at APEX 2012 in San Diego.
As leaders in price and performance AOI, MVP has demonstrated a high degree of adaptability of their systems throughout the 19 years of service to the industry. MVP will be exhibiting at Booth 2809.
Introducing the Ultra V
This fifth generation of Ultra is the fastest yet. Always the AOI workhorse for high volume manufacturing, the Ultra V is now a 64 bit based AOI complete with 16 cores of processing power, an 8MP high frame rate camera and a larger field of view, all while maintaining the core technology of a true 10um micron pixel size. The Ultra V is capable of inspecting at solder joint level defects on components as small as 01005. In addition, MVP supports sub-pixel algorithms with proven performance in demanding metrology applications.
The Ultra V is configured with a standard 20” x 20” (508mm x 508mm) inspection and board handling area, However the Ultra V XL allows for expansion of the inspection envelope to 20” x 30” (508mm x 762mm).
The Ultra V is also configured with MVP’s latest 6.4 software release encompassing the end to end ease of use software tools for rapid database programming, the unique validated performance wizard, as well as MVP’s intuitive iRepair software.
Introducing the Ultra SPI
The Ultra SPI has the same robust performance based 64 bit technology as the Ultra V. However in the SPI model’s dual smart 3D cameras inspect paste deposits for multiple defect scenarios.
The Ultra SPI is MVP's latest Solder Paste Inspection system utilizing MVP's leading Gerber and CAD generation utilities. Capable of importing Gerber and design data MVP can produce a 3D inspection database within a matter of 5-10 minutes.
A feature rich set of graphical data output is also available providing the user with a visual representation of defect analysis.
The Ultra SPI is the world’s only full 2D/3D capable AOI machine. This dual capability configuration provides a complete line inspection solution. It can inspect boards immediately after the printer for true volumetric measurement of paste deposits, it can then inspect after the pick and place machine for pre-reflow inspection and then after the oven for industry leading post reflow inspection. This capability is performed while using a patented 3D inspection methodology for paste inspection, which removes shadowing and specular noise.
Introducing iDcode
Machine Vision Products, Inc. is announcing a brand new product. The MVP iDcode is a new product designed to complement the multiple panel barcode reading process by the introduction of an X-Y stage mounted barcode reader. Working in conjunction with the MVP barcode process the iDcode allows the reading of multiple barcodes regardless of whether they are on the topside, bottomside or a combination of sides.
Supra E
The Supra E provides customers with the best cost to performance ratio for any AOI system.
Capable of inspecting 20x20 inch (508x508mm) boards the system utilizes MVP’s latest ease-of-use software and includes options for automatic database generation from a variety of input sources without the need for 3rd party data translators. As with all of MVP’s inline SMT focused AOI solutions, the Supra E comes standard with a true 10 micron pixel resolution for inspection of components as small as 01005, with full solder inspection.
Dynamic Process Control
MVP will be demonstrating the award winning Dynamic Process Control (DPC) Manufacturing Management Suite
Continuing to enhance it’s already class leading tools, DPC extends the capabilities of Lean Manufacturing Solutions (LMS) directly to the equipment and processes of SMT manufacturing lines. On single or mixed vendor SMT production lines, DPC continually drives manufacturing by providing instructions directly to operators running the line. DPC's unique instructional approach to Lean Manufacturing actually prompts users to take prioritised actions ensuring operations are always performing to the maximum of their current capability.
Building on the success of Process Control Manager (PCM), Setup Manager (SM) and Work In Progress Manager (WM), DPC’s recently released Material Manager simplifies major reductions in SMT floor stock and optimises the associated supply chain. Also enabling production schedules based on real word what if planning DPC eliminates waste and lost time waiting for parts that have been depleted; or changing over due to those parts not being available. DPC seamlessly integrates with both in-house and proprietary ERP, MRP and MES tools.
Introducing DPC Lite
Building on the success of its fully integrated Manufacturing Suite DPC (Dynamic Process Control), MVP provides the same capability in an individual offering for their entire family of inspection products. DPC Lite enables the same class leading software tools to be run alongside the inspection tools providing real time leading indicators to maximize inspection performance.
