Orchid Technologies Engineering & Consulting, completes the development of a ruggedized power supply

Maynard, MA., -(Aug. 21, 2008 ) Orchid Technologies Engineering & Consulting, completes the development of a ruggedized power supply for use in demanding avionics applications.

Working closely with component vendors, Orchid Technologies delivered a highly reliable, light weight, 150,000 Hour MTBF solution, for its avionics client.

�The high output voltage stability with low current noise was essential over the entire operating range of this design,� says Paul Nickelsberg, President and Senior Engineer for Orchid Technologies. �Optimization of power supply size and weight were critical to the success of this ruggedized power supply.�

Brownout detection, over and under voltage protection and thermal protection was performed with an on-board power supply controller. In addition, advanced error detection and power supply status monitoring achieved extraordinary output performance from the design.
