Due to continued success and expansion, Purex International Ltd, leading manufacturer of fume extraction systems has taken on three new apprentices to support key functions within the company.
Purex manufacture a wide range of equipment used to extract fumes and dust from varied applications such as soldering, laser coding & engraving, printing, welding and many others. The company has employed three new apprentices in key departments via the SEMTA organisation in Sheffield.
SEMTA offer to improve skills in manufacturing, engineering and science which are key to increasing performance in a company and SEMTA has experience in helping organisations, whatever their size.
The three apprentices - Ashley Horrocks, Lewis Kettle and Tom Peace - will be joining the Applications, Engineering and Marketing departments respectively.
Andy Easey + General Manager of Purex explains, “The business environment can be difficult at the moment for companies and partly due to this, young people have found it particularly hard in the jobs market.”
“Purex as a company believe that young people should be given the best chance to develop a good career. We also know that young people can bring new ideas and a fresh way of thinking to a company which is valuable. Because of our recent successes and expansion we have employed the three new apprentices to help maintain our progress as a forward thinking company.”
"This year we have seen a tremendous growth in enquiries from customers so to help to answer these Ashley will be learning all about the applications side of our business which will include specifying which machines and filters are required for a particular application. Many times the application enquiries turn into product developments which is where Lewis comes in;- he will be learning engineering skills such as fabrication, 3D design and electronics."
"After new products are developed, of course we want to inform our customers and the markets about them so this is where Tom will be focusing his efforts in the Marketing Department.”
Andy ends by saying, “We are also actively recruiting for other positions in the company and will take more apprentices on in the future.”
