I think all silver on a bare board is Immersion. We are a bare board manufacturer and that is the only silver I'm aware of being used as a finish. What is the problem you are having?

Hi, Thanks for this reply. Our problem is that our customer complained that the pcb that we sent them is not Immersion silver though the actual appearance of the pad is silver. They claim that it is only silver and not Immersion silver. We asked our vendor on this and they said its immersion silver but on the vendor's outgoing report it stated silver from the choices of HAL, silver and immersion silver. Can you advise how we can determine the difference? Thanks again, and looking forward on your response

I've been building boards for a long time and have never heard of anyone using electrolytic silver. Immersion silver would be 8-18 microinches thick. Plated silver would be significantly thicker (min a couple tenths - .0002" and up). So you may be able to check the thickness. The suppliers cert may be refering to lead free HASL which could have small amounts of silver in it but that would look like HASL.
