Work out number of pallet needed | 23 August, 2006

Hi,

Appreciate someone could advise or forward a format to me how to work out number of pallet needed for wave-solder if the machine speed is at 1.0m/min, volume per month is 4500 sets, pallet length 0.3 meter, conveyor length 5 meter......

Looking forward to hear from you...

There are a few variables that you have to consider :

1. Hours available on Wave Machine ( are other products going thru the same wave)

2. What beat rate are the boards being supplied from previous station?i.e. do you envisage the waveto be a bottle neck...

3.Is it an option to go for a 2-up Pallet or possibly 4-up ( this would increase your capacity)

We have one wave machine and it takes approx 3.5 mins from start to finish so it can do approx: 17/hr with 1 pallet. If I have 2 pallets this doubles to 34/hr or greater depending on how fast the boards are loaded into Carrier.

But lets say we have 2 x 2-up pallets well then we achieve approx 80/hr.

All depends on your requirements and spec. on machine.

Hope this helps!
