Philips Equipment Program Transfer from Network | 14 May, 2009

Hello, New to the site here. Have a few questions regarding Philips (Assembleon) Equipment and program transfer.

We need the ability to transfer "Golden Programs" to and from the machines. I'm currently using AMS 2.0 with line control. I hooked up the DIGI Serial to network boxes to the machines and am able to transfer programs to and from the machines. I need the ability to transfer from terminal computers located on the SMT floor so the operators can download the programs they need. We're a high mix, low volume contract manufacturer. Each line has about 400+ programs that are now stored on the network. I have to manually load them to each line through the network right now. This can be ver time consuming.

Now, with that said, is there a stand alone program I can use to just transfer programs? I have the old "CSM ToolBox 2" from Philips, but it's old school. It only allows 8 characters for program names, and it doesn't jive with the new AMS format the programs are stored in.

The DIGI software creates virtual com ports on the host PC which is what the Philips Machines require.

So, what are you using to transfer Programs?

Thanks in advance. Doug Christen Robotics Engineering Ascentron Inc.

Go see http://www.smsinternational.com/index.cfm. Their package "LineControl" was written to suit any model Philips/Yamaha ever made. The same package can talk to most other machine brands.
