Swapping heads between Samsung CP40's | 4 February, 2013

I do basic machine maintenance, have been asked to look into swapping out heads between two older Samsung CP40 machines. I have said that attempting this is not advisable for the following reasons: * I do not have access to Samsung Technical support

* We do not have any calibration fixtures for the machines

* The only manuals that we have are the basic operator manuals

I am just looking for a second opinion, thanks

Dave,

It depends on what you mean by swapping heads. If you want to move the aligners its not too hard. If you want to move the entire head assy it will require a lot of calibration. Anything can be done but it really about the cost and the value of the machines. If you can give me some more details I can be more helpful. if you are an owner as opposed to a reseller of the machines I am willing to help. Give me a call

Hi Larry,

I have a machine where one head has a faulty Z servomotor, and another head has a defective aligner.

In the meantime that I procure the required spare parts, what part is easier to swap in order to have at least one head productive?

Eventually, in case, can You supply me the suitable spare parts and the appropriate calibration procedure ?
