Most placement machine suppliers know this information. They periodically commission studies to determine market size and share. They up-date this with surveys completed by their sales representatives.

If a placement machine supplier thought you were serious about buying their machine and this information was critical in closing the deal, they would get you the data.

There are 1) Lies, 2) Damn Lies and 3) Statistics.

Be sure to validate any numeric claims by the sales people types. They are tricky with their wording to imply greater numbers than what actually exist.
