Siemens SIPLACE CF - Low vacuum on head | 30 January, 2019

Hi there. We are facing an issue with the placing head of our SMT machine SIEMENS SIPLACE CF 2004 model where the vacuum reading is low (820 instead of 900). This is resulting in that the components are either falling off when the head moves onto the board to place the component or the component does not remain centered with the nozzle and thus is wrongly placed onto the board. The following items were replaced but the problem is still present - distributor plate, distributor itself, plungers, silencer and seals, and nozzles. Thanks in advance for your suggestions/help.

Thanks. Full maintenance has been carried out and the head was removed. No traces of solder paste was noted.

Hi, Make sure to check any cracked, pinched, kinked hoses. Also when taking the whole gantry off there are clear hoses that can get pinched. Also, may want to changed the vaccum measuring board. Is this a S20 or F4,f5 or hs50

Hi Ry-n, we have checked the hoses for any cracks. The vaccum measuring board was changed also. Its an S20.

Hi Steve, Have you took the star completely off the Gantry. There are the 12 hoses to the star if Segment 1 connection hose is messed up everything will be off because everything gets measure off of Seg.1. Also, you could start eleiminating the problem by swapping the front of the head to the other side and seeing of the problem follows. If it doesnt then something wrong with the back half of the the gantry. Not sure if the air kiss pressure would have anything to do with it but may want to check it with a manometer to verify its getting vaccum to your nozzles.
