Hello, Sir

I'm reviewing DEK Gridlock specifications. Has anyone reviewed or validated the effect of Gridlock on the parts during solder paste printing?

Thanks.

In what regards? If you are wondering if the gridlock will cause damage to parts on the underside of the board, the concern is using fixed support rails. A company I used to work for fixed this by using pneumatic support rails(I am sure there are examples online for this).

The DEK Gridlock system should have rubber pads on top of the metal posts. We had them in our old Dek machines but upgraded to the fully automatic ones on our O3iX machines (Grid Lok)

The manual ones can be tricky to set up and requires you to have a flat bar to set on top of the PCA when setting height.

I suggest the fully auto ones, they work great.

As long as pressure is set properly (may require re-adjustment when adding / removing modules) then have not seen / heard of issues with damage to bottom side components. This assuming that rubber tips are in place and in good shape. I have a customer who "suspected" an issue with LED's being damaged by GridLock pins, and stopped using, but I don't believe they actually studied /documented cause and effect.

With all said I would still avoid place them under tall or sensitive parts. Still follow common sense.

Still use them. Just make sure they don't push sensetive component.
