Hi,

Could anyone shed some light why a mk5 13 zone heller ovens rail width won't auto adjust? has to be done by hand every time we change product. The board support rail will adjust just not the main rail, have tried swapping the two cards around but was still the same.

have you checked how is oven configured in oven setup wizard? if you run it now you should be able to see current config. make sure you backup old config before making any changes.

Yes this has been checked, had to change them to manual in order to manually adjust the rail width by hand by turning the chain.

Rail width won't move at all, tried a motor from another oven to rule that out but still no joy

Hi,

Yes was all working until factory was shut for a week and then when powering back up it would not move, all sensors have been checked and working as they should, everything has been checked to make sure its not jammed/stuck.

do you have a HDD backup? I often had a problem with HDD after a longer pauses.

For example, I had the same problem on my Rehm oven. It was in calibration mode. The machine is going to maximum transport width but sensor wasn't reached and the machine stucked in calibration mode.

Maybe there are manual mode for transport width adjusment. It is also worth to check the relays which control the motor. Maybe it is damaged, non-working. Maybe you can adjust width by pushing the lever on relay - sometimes have to do it.

Please check mechanical side if lead screws turning freely, binding screw could be the issue. Electrically please check if edge width motor is getting the required voltage. New ovens have the overload relay and the circuit protection fuse. Please contact Heller service ServiceNJ@hellerindustries.com with oven model and serial number if you need further help.

Evan, not sure if you solved it already. I wanted to mention any couplings being lose related to the motor and conveyor movement. Some have set screws that get lose with time. Also when you say manually, do you meant with a handle or you mean through the software?

Hi, we have checked all of those and beenm in contact with heller but they said they will need to send an engineer out as they are also out of ideas, was hoping someone might've had the same issues as we have two ovens doing the same thing, wont move in manual or auto mode, we have to turn by hand to adjust rail width but cbs works fine

have you tried HDD restore jet? another thing, two ovens with same malfunction after period of not being used sounds much like bad electrolytic capacitors... how old are the machines?

Haven't tried that yet as we don't have backups of them. The ovens are about 5 years old, our next step it to change the main card and reinstall as we have one as spares, just waiting for a break in production to do it.

You must distinguish first if it mechanical or electrical issue. Disconnect the motor chain and see if motor work it self- in this case something is binding. If motor is not working than check electrical circuit. Its easy to troubleshoot and fix in either case.
