Looking for feedback on site performance

To All,

Since Tuesday morning (EST) the SMTnet site database has been upgraded from MS Access to MS SQL. This should help reduce download time and improve our ability to handle the increasing site traffic. Have any of you noticed a change in access speed?

I have noticed that pages and forum messages are loading much quicker today! (I figured it was just our server that was snoozing before!) Thanks for the tip and your continued support of the site.

I've tested several postings and they've come up instantly. Seems a bit faster than before, although I have a fast connection through mediaone.

Thank you all for the feedback. As much as we can test the site performance from our computers here in Maine, confirmation from you is what counts. We are glad to know the database upgrade indeed helped.

Well, I should say speed performance increased to 40% and it hasn't timed out on my end. Well Done !
