Warning: Two advertising messages have been deleted! | 25 March, 1999

This morning we had to delete two messages that promoted company products and services on this TECHNICAL Forum. Although these messages are useful information, they are in violation of our Forum rule that prohibits unsolicited advertising through a posting. We encourage all companies to register with SMTnet so that your products and services are easily found through our Directory Database. We also recommend that companies try out banner advertising on the SMTnet site. Please e-mail me or call me at 207-780-0887 if you are serious about reaching our 15,000-20,000 monthly visitors. Thank you.

While We're At It!!! | 25 March, 1999

I have not been good at this and I assume others have not either, so I figure I'll mouth-off about it, even though I'm probably the only jerk on SMTnet that doesn't visit SMTnet Banner Advertisers.

I believe that we need to visit SMTnet Banner Advertiser sites to show them there is a pay-off to their advertising, supporting SMTnet etc etc. Someone has to be paying money to keep this site up and make sure Cunli, Mike, Cliff, and who knows who else has the means to solve their nutritional problems.

Boy, this ends-up sounding like one of those PBS fund drives ... Anyhow, get out there and click on those banners for the good of the Forum, apple pie, and the SMTnet way (whatever that is).

I pull up the SMTnet on the web, show them what a wonderful site it is, explain to them that it is funded solely by advertisers, and encourage them to advertise on it.

I don't know how many actually take that information home to their companies, but while I have a captive audience I take advantage of it. If I've given them a couple of my hours, they must give me a couple of thier minutes.

Agree with both of you, and when we do visit potential customers we tell them to check out the SMTNet Forum / website. PBS could use your help Dave!
