Cleaning PCB'S after rework ect.

Could someone please help me. We clean our PCB's with Safewash at present. As most of our work has to be upto MIL-STD, we cannot clean the PCB when transformers are fitted? Could someone please help???? Thank you J Kirby

I need that one first. Is it RMA or Water soluble? Talk to ya, Justin

John, I believe that your problem is cuased by inadequate filling of the transformers with potting material - if any is used at all. When you attempt to clean, particularly with a chemistry, it is designed with wetting agent, surface tension modifiers, to facilitate penetration under and INTO components! Because your rinse water does not have these same characteristics, it becomes extremely difficult to encourage the stuff to come out. Solution: get the guy who makes your transformers to seal the bloody things so that this problem will go away. Good luck.
