DEK 265 GSX PRINTER

Howdy 2, I am using my first DEK GSX PRINTER. Looks and acts good so far. Who know what - good, bad, or in between? Just want to get the facts from those who know. Earl Moon

Just want to get the facts from those who know. | Earl Moon OK, we actually have a GS. But my thoughts probably are applicable for your machine, too. Just send a mean e-mail if I'm wrong. We received our DEK in unusable condition and had to reject it. The DEK we now have is OK when it works. Lots of programming time involved. You probably won't be on the internet very much anymore. You'll be fixing something. The Dek supplied blades are bonded to the block so you have to buy expensive new holders when they wear out. We just shelled out over 3K for a few holders and blades. I liked the Permalex blades the best and convinced everyone we should get them. Then you only have to replace the blade and not the whole thing. The Permalex blade really does a nice job. But as far as the DEK printer goes... that's another story. We've had so-so service from DEK. The DEK printer is supposed to put out >200 boards an hour and probably does. Our slow P&P machine keeps us from getting that benefit. But we get to have all the headaches. I think the printer runs on a 286! That's pretty sorry for such an expensive piece of equipment. The stencil frame is another problem. We've had to buy several and none seem to be designed or made (by other vendors) very well. DEK doesn't supply us with blades or frames. Worst problem: computer and various electronic glitches that waste production time. That's my $.02!

Just want to get the facts from those who know. | Earl Moon We have had our 265 GSX a little over 2 years. Print quality has been excellent ( we print both paste and epoxy). We only use clamped metal squeegees, so have had no problem there. We like the ability to have front or center justified stencils. This allows us, for smaller boards, to put two images on one stencil and reduce costs. Under stencil wipe works fairly well, but we've stop using the paste dispenser due to inconsistencies in deposition. We now have 2 GSX's and 1 GS. just my thoughts, Doug

The problem is (1) your company has screwed me over twice in the last month. And (2) we already have three of your less than stellar regular frames. You (personally) have always done a great job for us, and Tetra is OK, but my head is already pounding because of all the problems I've had with you guys and I've only been in the office for five minutes!
