CP642's vision process error | 28 July, 2003

Hello dear all: I have some problems with the CP642's vision process system . When the machine is working, sometimes the vision process system will appearance the error message. Error code :1CA0A007 Element code: FFFF Segment code: 0000 This situation sometimes happening when placing a 0402 device.(It's just happening when placing 0402 RC chip.) And the monitor shown the device sharp is indention.

This problem will make the machine drops a lot of devices. But the device's PDG setting is fine. I had tried to exchange the VP board and use the alcohol to clean the transfer cable and connector, but it didn't work. But when I slow down the placing speed to 80% in PDG.This kind of erorr will be less.

Does anybody knows how to solving this problem? Please give me some tips or recommands. Thank you very much.

Best Regard,

Ryan

Hi There, First has the machine in question had the camera upgraded to accomdate 0603/0402. It sounds like there is a bad pickup on this part. Are all nozzles ok is feeder indexing correctly has part pick up position(Station 1) been calibrated. Hope this helps. Regards.

Hi mantis, Thank you for your helps. I had checked the CP7 error code index application. It also gives me the same answer. It tell me " the part pickup status is bad" and I have to "Make sure that the nozzle is not bent and that the part is being properly picked from the feeder." So I replace all my 0.7mm nozzle and recheck the center and bend status. I'm sure my nozzle is ok. And I replace my feeder too. But the error still pops up all the time. Do you have any others recommend? It's makes me so confuse. Until yesterday the machine was works fine and no problem to placing 0402 device. Thanks again for the kindly helps. ^^

Hi mantis, If you don't mind. Can you give me your e-mail address(the mail service on smtnet can't attach file)? I can mail you the picture that I took from the monitor by digital camera. Maybe you can through the picture to understand what I mean "indention". In the normal situation the part's sharp should be smoothly. But now it's look like a small IC.

Best Regards,

Ryan

Has anyone changed the PD on this part lately. Sounds like a program (PD) issue.

Nozzle size should be .7mm. Narrow view should be selected. Tape leaf cover on feeder should be .7mm. Make sure parts aren't on the camera lens.

Good luck!

Hello Roger,

Thanks for your help. My problem has been solved. I slow down the cam speed to 99%. But I still don't truly understand why. Maybe I have to check all the valve just like daniel said. Thank you.

Checking the vacuum at all stations is a good place to start. A vacuum guage with a piece of hose attached to a CP nozzle is a very handy tool to have. If you notice less vacuum at any one of the stations, you can start by looking @ the spool valves then take a look at the hoses under the turret. I have heard that the hoses can start to break down and leak slightly after many hours of exposure to the blacklights.
