epoxy coating methods | 15 June, 2004

Our research group is looking for a more efficient method of coating a small piece of sheet metal. We have a 1.5cm x 1.5cm very thin sheet of metal that we are coating with liquid epoxy, using a brush that was provided. This method has become unacceptable for us because we absolutely need a thin and even layer. Can anyone suggest another method, and a product that can be used to cover such a small area with precision? We are looking for something under $1000.00.

Have you considered spraying the coating? Check with the manufacturer of the epoxy to see if they recommend any equipment and whether or not the coating would have to be mixed with solvent to provide a smooth, thin even coat.
