Is there a freeware, or shareware, software that can merge my CAD data and BOMs?

Maybe an Excel macro to do the trick?

Thanks, Frank

There are as many CAD formats as there are BOM formats, but you should really try SMT-Maestro as it may fit your needs perfectly. The program is available from http://www.smtinfo.net/smtmaestro/smtmaestro.html

AEGIS sells a software product specifically for this called CircuitCAM. We also can handle comparisons of BOM to CAD, BOM to BOM revisions and handle an array of formats and file types. For more information you can go to http://www.aiscorp.com or call the main office at 215-773-3571.

Thanks, but I am familiar with CC and it certainly doesn't qualify as free or shareware.

Thanks Daan,

I forgot about SMT Maestro, but it does a little more than I need.

I can easily format that CAD file and the BOM file to match whatever the application requires. That's the easy part. I was looking for a simple tool that I would say "here is my CAD file and here is my BOM file, now give me my merged outputted TXT file" and that's it.

Until I stumble upon it, I may start using SMT Maestro...

Send me your e-mail. I have a program, which joins BOM into a placement file. The program doesn't have an author nor a copyright note = shareware. stefwitt@netzero.net
