Can anyone recomend tools for cleaning & adjusting of a lead free solder pot? I know it's not recomended to use the standard stainless tools. I was told by an FSE to use wood (kitchen) tools.

Well if I thought using wood tools was a good idea I would not have posted the question. Since the flash point of paper is 451F I would assum wood would be close? I guess I should have asked does anyone know of any tools kits or come up with there own for cleaning?

Yeah, made from Durostone or Delmat would be perfect. Try buying some pieces and have them machined into tools or DIY. This is the same material that solder pallets are made from.

Back in the day, we had a small solder pot used for dipping ICs that were freshly removed from defective boards. What tool did we use to clean the dross? A small piece of card board. After the card board got too toasted, we'd grab a new piece of card board. This was over 7 years ago, so lead-free wasn't around, and so the temp wasn't as high as it would be with this lead-free stuff.
