Basic Purpose of Position: Plans and conducts activities concerned with the quality assurance of industrial processes, materials, and products by performing the following duties.


Primary or Major Responsibilities:

· Ensure that all assignments are performed in compliance with all applicable Federal, State, Provincial and Company safety and health regulations, and where applicable, proper personal protective equipment is utilized.

· Drive quality assurance initiatives to achieve exceptional product quality and reliability with focus on manufacturing process capabilities and product specifications / requirements.

· Drive and support functional owners to achieve effective use of risk analysis and management processes through the use of FMEA, Control Plan, APQP, and mistake proofing in product and process design.

· Plans, coordinates and executes internal audits, and assists in coordination and management of third party and customer audits, such as ISO, UL, etc.

· Introduces and utilizes appropriate quality tools to evaluate product and process performance such as, Pareto charts, trend analysis, statistical process control (SPC), and process maps.

· Primary customer quality interface - Communicates with customer providing technical support on quality issues and performance. Provides guidance to Spartronics team on customer requirements and expectations. Review customer engineering changes and implement into production

· Drive continuous improvement across facility’s Key Process Indicators (scrap, rework, PPM) utilizing Lean, Six Sigma, Poke Yoke and related process improvement tools and methodologies.

Develop and revise manufacturing process      specifications using failure analysis and effective corrective action      processes
Participate in technical assignments involving      minimizing the manufacturability and maintaining timely product flow for      assigned product(s)
Lead the Root Cause Analysis and Corrective/Preventative action processes, utilizing problem solving tools within an 8D methodology.
Lead APQP as part of the New Product Introduction teams, including project risk management activities.
Provide technical assistance in the development and implementation of robust processes to meet customer requirements, including QA plans and process routings
Key member of the Quality Team – Provides specific guidance and direction to general staff as well as department managers, functional owners in implementation of the quality system and compliance with quality standards and regulations.
Monitor and follow-up on supplier quality and corrective actions as necessary.
Monitor MRB along with timely disposition of suspect product.
Any other work assigned by Management.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electronics / Electrical) field or area of study deemed acceptable by the hiring team, or appropriate years of direct experience.
Minimum of 3 years Quality and Product engineering experience in the EMS or OEM field supporting printed circuit board assembly development and processes are preferred.
Experience developing work instructions and relative QMS procedures.
Thorough understanding of ISO 9001 requirements. AS9100 experience preferred.
Ability to function effectively in a team environment.
Effective communication skills driven by attention to detail.
Understanding of DFM and New Product Introduction process including the use of APQP disciplines.
Excellent analytical skills using Six Sigma and Lean Principles.
Good working knowledge of quality/reliability engineering statistical techniques.
Self-motivated, self-managed, Ability to handle multiple projects at the same time.
ASQ Certification (CQE, CQA), Certified Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt preferred.
