Job Description:

Mini-Circuits designs, manufactures and distributes integrated circuits, modules, and sub-systems for high performance radio frequency (RF) and microwave applications.  With design, sales and manufacturing locations in over 30 countries, Mini-Circuits’ products are used in a range of wired and wireless communications applications. Mini-Circuits’ sells our products to over 20,000 customers globally through our direct sales force, applications engineering staff, sales representatives, as well as through our extensive web site.

The Automation System Engineer will create and improve automated assembly, inspection, production test systems, and device handlers, applicable to RF and Microwave components.

Responsibilities :

Analyzes all aspects of test/assembly processes and identifies the process candidates where the automation can be justified based on needs for capacity, efficiency and process control.
Provides technical information, definition and process flowcharts of flexible and saleable automation alternatives
Prepares proposals for automation including objective, scope, expected outcome, resources requirements, budgetary cost and project plan
Takes leadership in communication with projects stakeholders during the duration of the project from concept to feasibility and from manufacturing/procurement to qualification
Manages the project during the manufacturing/procurement cycle and provides scheduled updates
Creates documents for all phases of project, SOW, qualification/buy-off test plans, qualification report, operational manual
Responsible for training of the user base and the equipment support personnel
Supports and provides solutions for continuous improvement of the existing automated solutions
Keeps tracks of engineering changes and updates the necessary documents
Keeps up-to-date with the latest developments in the related technical fields
Qualifications
Requirements

Able to define, develop and deploy Automation.
Knowledge of automation systems and tools
Knowledge of various machine sensors
Experience in programming microcontrollers utilizing C/C++
Experience with analytical software, Microsoft office and Microsoft Project
BS/ MS Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Control systems engineering
Knowledge of Solidworks/AutoCAD
Mechanical tooling and fixturing

Preferred

Automated inspection systems
Feeding and packing systems
Conveyer speed/position control
Pneumatic controls and components
Liquid dispensing process

Skills 

Good communication skills, work well with others
Able to work in a fast-changing and dynamic environment
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing
Project costing and ROI
Efficiency optimization OEE analysis

Abilities

Walking, bending, lifting up to 50 LB occasionally

Training:

Attends in house training as required and provided
Keeps up to date with the development in the related fields
