Working with industry
The School of Engineering has a long history of successful enterprise activities through the Electronic Systems Design Centre (ESDC), which has assisted in the development of over 100 products since it was established with DTI funding in 1995. Alongside this, is the new Digital Media Hub which is designed to bring together the creativity of the school’s Multimedia Technology and Design undergraduates and graduates, with businesses in the region.
The School has a large team of experts working in a wide range of electronics, digital technology and computing technologies, who are able to provide leading-edge advice and consultancy.
Since January 2008 the School has also been the regional representative for the newly formed Electronics Knowledge Transfer Network (Electronics KTN). The Electronics KTN is one of 24 Knowledge Transfer Networks established by the Technology Strategy Board (TSB) to promote electronics and the electronics industry in the UK.
