IPC A-6012 CIS Re-Certification Course Description:
One time the candidate for IPC 6012 “The Acceptability of Printed Boards” has been trained as a certification specialist they will require to be periodically re-certified in order to retain their credentials. This requires a re-certification process. If the candidate has not been actively using the standard after that it is suggested that they re-take the initial certification class for the IPC 6012 “The Acceptability of Printed Boards”. If the recertification candidate has been occasionally using the standard, yet deals with PCB issues all of the time then a recertification class, shorter in time, would be appropriate for the student. Finally, if the student is extremely familiar with the material the candidate could simply take a proctored challenge test.
The recertification class for IPC 6012 “The Acceptability of Printed Boards” is 3 days in length and consists of the accelerated review lecture of the terms, principles and other materials of the IPC-6012 standard. Like in the primary certification students are led by an instructor through the material albeit at an accelerated pace. This followed by testing the passing of which leads to another 2-year accreditation of the IPC 6012 “The Acceptability of Printed Boards” certification.
