It is with deep sorrow that we received word of Sean McShefferty's passing on October 12, 2008, said Tom Forsythe, Vice President of Kyzen. Sean has battled stomach cancer for nearly two years and until quite recently had remarkably maintained a near normal schedule not only managing to continue with his duties at Kyzen, where he was the North American Electronics Sales Manager, but also being active at his church, in outreach programs for cancer awareness, as well as supporting other cancer patients and survivors.
A man of boundless energy and enthusiasm, Sean would light up any room he entered. Likewise, the world was a friend to Sean and he was well known to strike up a conversation with princes, paupers, and anyone else that had the joy of crossing his path. All became fast and lasting friends.
An East coast native, Sean found his true roots in California, while attending college in San Diego and nurtured those roots the rest of his life. We at Kyzen were blessed to call him friend and colleague for nearly 13 years. He has been an instrumental part of our evolution and success. His professionalism, business acumen, and accomplishments will be sorely missed.
Sean's family kindly shared him with all of us and, of course, Sean showed the latest pictures of his wife, Val, and children, Grace and John, to everyone he met.
Friends are invited to gather with the family for a viewing at St Peter's Episcopal Church, 334 14th St., Del Mar, CA (858-755-1616) from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, October 19, 2008. Funeral services also will be at St. Peter's on Monday, October 20, 2008 at 1 p.m.
We share their loss and try to follow Sean's example of putting others first. Grace and John are just beginning their formal education and a fund is being established to help the family provide for that education in the coming years. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, friends consider a donation to the education fund for Sean's children which has been established as:
McShefferty Family Fund, Pacific Marine Credit Union, Acct # 2006007
2454 Vista Way, Oceanside, CA 92054, USA
