Aqueous Technologies Corp., North America’s largest provider of batch defluxing systems and cleanliness testing equipment, announces that CEO Michael Konrad will present at the upcoming Long Island SMTA Expo and Technical Forum. Konrad will present “Cleaning in a World of No-Clean” on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at the Islandia Marriott Long Island in NY.
While many defluxing technologies exist, spray-in-air based technologies remain the most popular. Within the spray-in-air defluxing equipment marketplace are batch and inline defluxing systems. The shift of high production lines from the United States to regions abroad has caused batch format defluxing systems to become the dominant defluxing configuration.
Konrad will discuss the best-practice design criteria of batch and in-line format defluxing systems. This paper reviews various designs and their suitability to specific modern cleaning challenges, including lead-free, high-density component population, under-component impingement and shadowing.
Michael Konrad is an SMT Advisory Board member and President of Aqueous Technologies. Konrad was a member of IPC’s Stencil Cleaning Task Group, contributing to the IPC-7526 Stencil and Misprinted Board Cleaning Handbook, and is a current member of IPC’s 5-31 Committee for the upcoming IPC Cleaning Handbook.
