Diagnosys, a world leader in electronics test, inspection and programming, has named Morris Harmor as its Western Region sales director. Based in Phoenix, Harmor will manage manufacturers representative and provide customer support in a territory covering the West Coast and stretching east through Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado and Wyoming.
"Morris' experience with design automation tools and test solutions offers a unique perspective to our customers," said Tim Webb, President, Diagnosys, Inc. "This allows him to work with our customers and prospects to determine the most cost-efficient solution to meet their test and inspection goals. His background with the commercial, aerospace and military industries can reduce the procurement time and bring the right solution to the manufacturing floor faster."
Harmor comes to Diagnosys from Integrated Measurement Systems, which was acquired by Credence Corp. He also held sales and management positions with Scientific Calculations, where he was involved in CAD/CAM for printed circuit boards; and VIEWlogic, where he was sales manager for Federal Government accounts, working with sales representatives and VARs. Harmor says he prefers to approach customer challenges as part of their team.
"Working with the responsible engineer in a consulting capacity increases the number of viable solutions available to his customers," he said. "I tend to be more technical than other folks in sales, and that helps my understanding of the issues. The quicker you understand the goals, the more solutions you can offer in a shorter amount of time. I like to study the challenge in depth and work hand in hand with our customers so that we can present complete solutions to help them make the right decisions with complete confidence."
