With the current economic challenges, management directed Bliss' engineering and manufacturing team to review product lines to find ways to reduce costs. After many months of modifying designs and renegotiating supplier contracts, the process has been completed. Bliss is excited to pass these substantial newfound savings on to its customers.
We were able to modify the design of some of our products and merge a variety of products such as the tote cart, the adjustable tray cart, the chassis cart, and the chassis assembly cart to reduce our part number count, cutting our overall manufacturing cost, said Ken Bliss CEO VP of Engineering. This actually resulted in a more modular product line for our customers as well. Even on the products that could not be redesigned, we are still cutting the prices by at least 5 percent.
Additionally, some of the modifications to Bliss' designs have allowed the company to use a thinner gauge metal without sacrificing the strength of its products, resulting in lower shipping costs for customers. A few products were changed from a welded design to a bolted design, which allows them to be knocked down more easily and makes shipping longer distances and overseas more cost effective.
We look forward to hearing from our customers that love Bliss products but do not have the budget to support it. We hope that with the new prices, everyone who wants our products will also be able to purchase them, Ken added.
