The CDM is the flagship program of the Thomas A. Read Center for Distribution Research and Education and is held on the Texas A&M University campus in College Station, Texas.
There are five week-long modules in the program. They may be taken separately, or all five modules may be taken to earn the CDM.
"It offers a comprehensive set of management skills for distributors and manufacturers," Associate Director Brian Reynolds said. "And, the peer interaction that results from meeting several times a year creates value beyond the material presented."
The modules are:
- Sales and Operations Management
- Improving Distributor Profitability and Customer Focused Marketing
- Understanding Distribution Processes
- Distributor Inventory Management for the 21st Century
- Supply Chain Connectivity: Driving Value-Based Continuous Improvement Through Information
Reynolds said Read Center faculty incorporates findings from its current research into the modules - so they are teaching the latest in distribution.
"In addition, we add value by involving multiple industry channels, using case studies and providing an ongoing resource for participants as they implement what they learn in the CDM."
