Los Angeles, CA (October 5, 2007) Canon Communications, the leading publisher, trade show producer, and digital media company for the world's $3 trillion advanced, technology-based manufacturing industry, today announced figures confirming the successful launch of its latest co-located event. Last month, the company produced a 275,000 net square feet, 1,400 exhibitor event at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois. Its size will likely qualify the event as Canons third entry in Tradeshow Weeks prestigious "Tradeshow 200" list.
The Rosemont event featured the first co-location of three major showsNational Manufacturing Week, Assembly Technology Expo, and Quality Expo, acquired from Reed Exhibitionsand two new ones, Electronics Assembly Show and PLASTEC Midwest, of Canons own creation. Attendance exceeded 26,000 buyers, and on-site exhibitor renewals for the 2008 show reached 70% of available space.
"This was the best show my company has participated in over the last four years," said QC Industries marketing manager Chris Round. "We do a tremendous number of shows on an annual basis and the quantity and quality of the leads were outstanding. The idea of bundling this show with the others is a recipe for success that Canon has proven in many other parts of the country, and it continues to work."
Canons co-location strategy now provides OEM buyers with access to mega-events in four key regions of the U.S.West, Midwest, Northeast, and Southeast. The company is uniquely positioned for success due to the promotional support of its extensive lineup of publications, Web sites, and digital media vehicles, all of which are respected voices within the medical device, pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, specialty packaging, plastics processing and allied segments.
"For more than a decade, Canon has delivered on its a commitment to co-locate allied advanced, technology-based manufacturing shows under one roof, geographically positioned in the center of their served markets," said Kevin O'Keefe, senior vice-president of the company's events division. "In so doing, we offer a compelling resource to OEM buyers while at the same time providing exhibitors access to thousands of additional sales targets across multiple industries."
In a related development, Canon recently announced the launch of Medical Design & Manufacturing (MD&M) Midwest, which will be part of the next co-located Rosemont event in September 2008. The new show is expected to showcase 300 exhibiting companies and attract 4,000 medical design and manufacturing professionals. Its exposition will be accompanied by a concurrently running technical conference. Strong space sales have already been reported for MD&M Midwest.
