Munich, Germany, June 12, 2009 - productronica 2009 will be the inaugural event for an entirely new electronics industry program: The Munich Electronics Summit. It consists of two parts; a private meeting for International corporate CEOs and a public forum which will include a keynote address and CEO Roundtable.
The Summit will be held each year, concurrently with either productronica or electronica. The purpose is to provide industry CEOs with a private forum to discuss strategies, ideas, trends and general political conditions within the electronics industry. The second half of the Summit includes a public keynote address and CEO Roundtable in which to further address issues affecting the industry.
This year's featured leader of the private forum and keynote speaker is Ram Charan. Mr. Charan is the coauthor of Execution, the author of What the CEO Wants You to Know and many other books. A noted expert on business strategy, Mr. Charan has coached some of the world's most successful CEOs and has helped companies like GE, KLM, Bank of America, DuPont, Novartis, EMC, Dell and Verizon shape and implement their strategic plan.
Almost 200 company CEOs have been invited to the Munich Electronics Summit. Although the private meeting is by invitation only, interested International companies may contact Messe Mnchen for consideration in participating.
Dr. Jrgen Gromer, a member of the Supervisory Board and former President of Tyco Electronics, will organize the Munich Electronics Summit.
Klaus Dittrich, host and CEO of Messe Mnchen, commented, "As the organizer of productronica, we are delighted to offer the CEOs of worldwide leading companies a unique opportunity with the Munich Electronics Summit in future to exchange information and experiences at a personal level. This event is one of the major innovations which we are introducing at productronica and proves that the trade fair is becoming increasingly more important as an international meeting-point for managers from the electronics industry. As an annual event, the Munich Electronics Summit will in future combine the productronica and electronica trade fairs, which will be staged alternately."
The CEO Round Table is a public podium discussion with leading figures from the worldwide electronics industry. It has long been part of productronica. It is being retained in its current form and is now part of the Munich Electronics Summit. One new feature is the keynote address by Ram Charan before the discussion.
The Munich Electronics Summit will take place on the first day of productronica, which will open its doors at the New Munich Trade Fair Centre from November 10 to 13, 2009.
